When a genealogical search indicated that Al Sharpton was related to a slave who was in the service of the once flaming segregationist-Senator Strom Thermond, he exclaimed the news was the greatest shock of his life and demanded another investigation. The second genealogical check revealed the surprising fact that he is related to Donald Trump.
“This is the second greatest shock of my life!” Reverend Al exclaimed. “I intend to seek restitution immediately.”
Insisting that he is not driven by financial motives, he reportedly intends to ask Donald Trump for half of his alleged fortune.
Mr. Trump denies the validity of the claim, saying, “If Al Sharpton is related to my ancestors, he would have grown up to be a builder. All the men in my family went into real estate.”
Prior to launching a legal action, Al has enrolled in a real estate class.
Win or lose, he seems a bit consoled, stating, “I can tell you, finding out I’m related to Donald Trump is sure a heck of a lot better than being told I’m related to anybody who would work for one of Strom Thermond’s ancestors.”
